Abbey Gate College in Saighton seeks a skilled and caring female Teacher of Physical Education to join our dedicated staff from February 2027, on a part-time (0.6 FTE) basis. The fixed-term role covers maternity leave within the PE department, with hours Monday to Thursday.

Examinable PE is taught at GCSE and A Level; the successful candidate will deliver PE across Key Stages and lead co-curricular activities while working closely with other school staff.

Salary: Abbey Gate College operates its own Teachers' Pay Scales

Abbey Gate College is seeking a skilled, passionate, and caring female Teacher of Physical Education to join our highly dedicated teaching staff, from February 2027, on a part-time (0.6 FTE) basis. These hours will be worked over four days, from Monday to Thursday. This is a fixed term role to cover maternity leave within the department.

Sport is a vital and highly reputed aspect of our College’s overall educational provision, with both a curricular and a co-curricular profile. We promote a positive and inclusive experience for all students, and we also foster excellence at individual and team-level competitiveness.

Examinable Physical Education is taught at both GCSE and A Level. The ability to teach Physical Education at A Level in Sixth Form and at GCSE in Key Stage 4 is, therefore, essential.

The successful candidate will be a highly effective practitioner with a passion for Physical Education, excellent subject knowledge, and a proven track record of driving strong pupil engagement, progress, and examination outcomes in the subject.

This role includes responsibility for teaching PE across all Key Stages, and organising and delivering a wide range of co-curricular sporting activities and fixtures. Our Senior School staff work closely with our Infant and Junior School staff, with some PE provision shared, as required.
