Female Waking Night Support Worker!

  • Location:Newmarket, Suffolk
  • Hours: 30 hours per week (3 nights per week, 10-hour shifts)
  • Shift Pattern:9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Pay: £13.54per hour

Your Role

Join our team as a Waking Night Support Worker and make a real difference in the life of a woman in her mid-50s. She requires 1:1 support throughout the night, and this is where you come in! If you’re patient, understanding, and ready to offer compassionate support during some of her most vulnerable times, this role is for you.

As a Waking Night Support Worker, your role will be crucial in helping her through her nighttime anxieties. On particularly restless nights, she may require companionship, redirection, or simply a calming presence. You’ll support her in settling back into her home or engaging with her “twiddles” (small distraction toys) to ease her heightened anxiety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform household tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Conduct health and safety checks to ensure the safety of everyone in the home.
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to behaviours of distress.
  • Complete accurate record-keeping and documentation.
  • Manage the environment to ensure comfort and security during the night.
  • Administer and manage medications in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide personal care and support with hygiene as required.
  • Work independently throughout the night while maintaining high standards of support.

We are looking for experienced support workerswith a background in learning disability support, complex support, or health and social care. Your expertise will be invaluable in delivering high-quality, person-centered support.

Shift Patterns

In this role, you will work waking night shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM (mainly weekends only).
