Support Worker Role at Mencap in Salisbury

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a passionate Support Worker to join our team in Salisbury. This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time options available.

We operate a registered care home where five ladies with learning disabilities live and enjoy fulfilling lives.

As a Female Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting individuals to live the life they choose, respecting their unique abilities and needs.

What We're Looking For
  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • The ability to reduce social isolation and increase independence and confidence among individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Support individuals in accessing their local communities.
Contract Options
  • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
  • Part-time: 20 hours per week

All services operate 24-hour care. Rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance, allowing you to plan your personal and social life.

  • Shifts include days and weekends: 8-6pm, 3pm-8pm, 11am-6pm, 7am-6pm, 12noon-10pm
  • Sleep-in shifts include an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70

*An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful candidate, paid for by Mencap (T&Cs apply).

*Due to the nature of the service, we are seeking female applicants only. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
