Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team in Newhaven. We have permanent part-time positions (30 hours per week).

At our Newhaven service, we support 6 people sharing their home and an individual living in the community. You will provide high-quality, flexible support to individuals with learning disabilities, helping them live independently and enjoy a fulfilling life. It is preferred if you hold a full UK driving licence, as some of the people we support have their own cars and would like you to be able to drive them to access various places.

What we're looking for:

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Contract options:

Part-time: 30 hours

Shift times:

All our services are 24-hour care. Rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance, allowing you to plan your personal and social life.

  • Days: Between 07:00-22:00
  • Sleep-in shifts are available, with an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.

*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
