Job summary

Case Management Cymru Ltd in Merthyr Tydfil is seeking a Female Support Worker to provide day and night care for a young client with high needs. The role is permanent and involves 36 hours per week across 12-hour shifts, with days, nights and weekend work.

You will join a small, dedicated team led by a Mum and a Team Leader, with a Case Manager providing support. An enhanced DBS is required and full induction will be provided.

• Driver with access to a car and willing to drive the family van.

Responsibilities

• Provide day and night care with personal tasks and support.
• Support play, entertainment and social interaction to assist development.
• Assist with feeding and settling at night to help parents rest.
• Assist with appointments and travel for medical/therapy during school holidays.

Contract: Permanent

Location: Merthyr

Hours per week: 36 hours weekly (to include upto 3 x 12-hour shifts and selection of afternoon/evening shifts)

Working Pattern

• Term time: 12-hour shifts
• Waking Nights & Weekend days (09:00-21:00 & 21:00 – 09:00)
• Afternoon/evening (15:00 – 21:00)
• Monday – Sunday (Flexibility essential)
• During school holidays shift patterns are likely to include working 12 or 6-hour working days.

Pay per hour

• Waking Nights - £18
• Days - £16

I am 7 years old and have complex health needs because of my medical condition. I need 24/7 support in all areas of daily life. You will be part of my amazing team, which is led by my Mum and a Team Leader, with support from my case manager. I am described by the people who know me best as ‘amazing, determined, funny and loving’, I am sociable and have a great sense of humour. I need lots of support on a daily basis and also overnight as I can be restless. I love funny stories.

I am looking for enthusiastic, fun, patient and reliable Female Support Workers to help me during my day and night, supporting me with things such as play and entertainment, personal care, feeding and to settle me during the night so that my Mum & Dad can have a good night’s rest. In the school holidays, I might need you to help me get to medical and therapy appointments and social events. You will need to be calm and patient under pressure with the ability to work your hours flexibly.

A full induction and training will be provided. This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS.
