Job description

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a passionate Support Worker to join our incredible team in Long Eaton, Nottingham.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals we support with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

What we're looking for:
  1. A genuine passion for supporting others.
  2. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  3. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  4. A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

The client is a lady in her 40s, who currently lives alone. She is overall a very pleasant lady and very sociable. She likes the theatre, discos, going to the park, attending parties, listening to music, walking, visiting friends, attending coffee mornings, shopping and going on holidays.

She requires support with personal care, preparing meals, medication, attending appointments, support with managing her finances, keeping her home safe, clean and tidy, and maintaining relationships with family and friends.

Contract options:

24 hour contract working on a fixed four week rolling rota including evening, sleep ins, weekends and public holidays.

All our services are 24hr care and include a sleep. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

Sleep-in shifts you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.

* An enhanced DBS will be required for the successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
