A Personal Care Service in Motherwell is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support a 55-year-old female with an acquired brain injury. Responsibilities include personal care, medication assistance, and encouraging social activities. Flexibility in hours, with occasional shifts during the week, and essential driving responsibilities. Training provided for candidates without care experience. Competitive pay at £12.90 per hour.
Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a 55-year-old female with an acquired brain injury resulting in a Physical Disability living in the Motherwell.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
Assisting with medication
Preparing meals and healthy snacks
Walking and general exercise, assisting with participation in these physical activities
Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair
General Housework
Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Interests include reading, cooking, shopping and swimming.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Relevant care experience is required but not essential as training will be provided.
Driver with a Full UK Driving Licence is essential and you will be required to use your own vehicle – mileage allowance will be paid.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility):
Recruiting for 1 sessional/bank position.
Days and Times:
Sundays: 10:00am to 4:00pm
Sleepover every 4th Saturday: 6:00pm to 9:00am.
Occasional shifts between Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 5:00pm (as a second carer in order to support with outings)
Hourly rate:
£12.90 per hour
