Are you someone who loves helping others, enjoys being out and about, and wants a job that’s both rewarding and fun? At Mencap, we’re looking for Support Workers to join our friendly, passionate team in Bury St Edmunds.

Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, we will give you the training and support to thrive.

About the role

You will be supporting people with a range of needs to live happy, independent lives. Your role might include attending local day centres with the people we support, trips out to the seaside and shopping, theatre and cinema visits, meals out, and the occasional weekend away. Each day brings something new – full of fresh challenges, meaningful moments, and the chance to make a real impact on the lives of the people we support.

In this rewarding role, you will also provide personalised support based on each individual’s needs, including personal care, manual handling, administering medication, and specialist areas like Speech and Language Therapy.

Shifts & Hours
  • We have full-time and part-time positions available, so we can be flexible with what hours you are looking for.
  • Shifts can vary between 7am-10pm, and weekend work is required, so flexibility is essential.
  • Sleep-in shifts are also a requirement at this service, offering a flat rate of £63.70.

*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
