Active Care Group is seeking enthusiastic Female Support Workers in Rainham, Essex to provide 2:1 support to a young woman with an ABI. You will help her stay active, engaged in community activities, and maintain routine and structure within two family homes and in the community.
The role requires patience, positivity, confidence and a good sense of humor, with a focus on dignity and person-centred care. A full UK driving licence is essential and DBS induction training are provided.
We're looking for enthusiastic and reliable Female Support Workers to join our 2:1 support team in Rainham, Essex, supporting a young woman living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). We're looking for someone who brings patience, positivity, confidence and a great sense of humour to every shift. Meet the client: Our client is an active young woman who enjoys keeping busy, getting out into the community and having a clear plan for her day. She thrives on routine and structure but also loves opportunities to enjoy her favourite activities and experience new things. Here's a little glimpse into what she enjoys:
Family is an important part of her life. She lives at home with her mum, two siblings and their family dog. She also spends two nights each week with her dad, so you'll be providing support across both family homes.
Every day brings opportunities to make a positive difference, but we're also looking for someone who understands that some days may be more challenging than others. Due to her Acquired Brain Injury, our client can sometimes experience periods of significant emotional distress. During these moments, she may shout, swear or move her arms forcefully. She needs Support Workers who can remain calm, confident, patient and reassuring, recognising that these behaviours are expressions of distress rather than something to take personally. Just as importantly, she wants to be recognised for who she is as an individual, not defined by her disability. You'll play an important part in helping her access everyday activities and inclusive community experiences where she feels comfortable, valued and able to be herself.
Day shifts: 7:00am - 6:00pm
Available days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
You'll be working as part of a 2:1 support team, providing consistent, person-centred care across both family homes and within the community. This is an opportunity to become part of a familiar, supportive team and build a trusting relationship with the person you support.
Important note: As part of our recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to attend a meet and greet with our client and her family before starting the role.
Are you a confident, compassionate and energetic Support Worker who enjoys staying active, having a laugh and making a genuine difference?
ABI experience is desirable, but the right attitude and personality are just as important.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
