A leading support services provider in Stevenage is seeking a female Support Worker to offer 1:1 assistance to a woman with autism and a learning disability. This role involves personal care, medication administration, and engagement in various activities. We're looking for a female Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a woman in her 50s who lives in her own home. She has autism, a learning disability, and dysphagia, and communicates using a visual schedule rather than words. You'll support her with personal care (including intimate care), medication, and meal preparation in line with SALT guidelines. She enjoys swimming (you'll need to get into the water), gardening, cooking, sensory and art sessions, and trips out, locally, and further afield by train. She has a bus pass and her own car, which has space for a named driver (though driving isn’t essential). She can be anxious with new people, so a calm, consistent approach is key. You'll work alternate weekends with a shift pattern of either long day - sleep in or late - sleep in and an early (7:30-2:30pm). Lone working is involved.
