Introducing Hannah

Hannah was born in November. She lives at home with her mother, father, 2 younger siblings, and has wider family living nearby. She enjoys sports, especially football; baking; and has a keen interest in make-up and styling her hair. We are seeking a patient, caring Support Worker to assist Hannah with homework and her interests.

Due to a birth injury, Hannah struggles with her memory and processing information, requiring support with organization and planning. She can become frustrated at times, and awareness of her emotional, behavioral, and cognitive challenges is necessary. She is independent with most personal care but will need encouragement and prompting at times.

Your role includes supporting Hannah with personal care, domestic tasks, food and drink prep, life skills (promoting independence), homework, accompanying her to activities at home and in the community, and providing companionship. You may also help transport her to appointments and support her therapy programs.

This role offers a chance to develop skills and support a very special young lady. It requires effective communication, patience, understanding, warmth, and compassion.

Pay and Benefits:
  • Monday to Friday, £17.00/hr; weekends and bank holidays, £19.00/hr
  • Ongoing training & support
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave pro-rata
  • Free DBS check
  • Pension (subject to eligibility)

Note: To promote continuity of high care standards, the following will be offered:

  • Induction
  • Relevant training (including The Care Certificate)
  • Regular supervision and review meetings
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR

Safeguarding: ILS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our clients. All prospective employees will be assessed during recruitment. The position requires:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
  • Satisfactory references, including last employer
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (a conviction does not necessarily prevent employment)
