Job description

Overview

I am a lady who lives in the rural setting of Hatton Park. I am looking for two female personal assistants (PAs) to help me live independently in my own home. I have a retired assistance dog, so you must be confident working alongside dogs. Two PAs will cover each other’s annual leave and/or sickness. Initially you will work together one day a week to become familiar with my needs. POST 1: up to 7 hours per week; POST 2: up to 4 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Keep bathroom and kitchen hygienically clean
• Vacuum and dust
• Ensure the home is kept clean and tidy
• Laundry, including washing, drying and ironing if required
• Support with bathing/showering when required
• Assist with toileting needs
• Support with shopping trips, doctors or hospital visits
• You may be required to drive me to appointments in my car
• Walk my working dog when I am unable to
• Take me to occasional netball matches (weekday evenings or weekends), with some matches potentially including an overnight stay

Essential requirements

• The ability to work on own initiative
• Reliability, punctuality and trustworthiness
• A lively and bubbly personality
• Confidence around dogs and ability to walk the dog if required
• Ability to undertake normal domestic tasks in my home
• Ability to support with personal care needs
• Physical ability to lift a wheelchair into and out of a car and to push the wheelchair
• Non-smoker during working hours
• Full, clean driving licence; you will drive my vehicle
