Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence ideal but not essential.

We have an exceptional opportunity for you to become a part of our growing Supported Living Team in Wistow, Selby, and surrounding areas!

Role: Female Support Worker

Pay Rate: £12.40 Per hour

Contract: Full-time & Permanent

Duties Include:

  • Supporting people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person-centred approaches to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
  • Basic daily duties such as medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and supporting varied activities.
  • Providing emotional and practical support.
  • Assisting the people in our care to access community facilities and be included in community groups.
  • Building robust relationships with the people in our care to promote independence and improve quality of life.
  • Empowering the people in our care to learn new skills or pursue hobbies and interests.

Person Specifications:

  • Good understanding of behaviours that may be deemed as challenging, coupled with developmental issues.
  • Resilient, confident, and possessing exceptional skills in supporting adults from a forensic mental health background.
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding in supporting individuals at risk of self-harming.
  • Compassionate, caring, and positive personality.
  • Genuine passion for making a real difference in people’s lives.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and conflict.
  • Works well as part of a team as well as individually.
  • A Full UK driving licence is ideal for this role but not essential.
  • Experience within the care industry, ICSs, or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to multi-task, with good time management, organization, attention to detail, and flexibility.
