Are you enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference every day? We’re looking for a Support Worker to join a warm and welcoming bungalow home supporting three young adults aged 19–22 with a range of needs including global developmental delay, autism, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, and visual impairment.
You’ll be supporting all three individuals across a variety of interests, both at home and in the community. From baking, painting, and arts and crafts to swimming (you’ll need to join them in the pool), bowling, cinema trips, and gym sessions, this is a lively, engaging role. One young woman attends college and day centres and is preparing for supported employment. She’s bubbly, sweet, and loves being involved, though her communication is limited and she uses Makaton (training can be provided).
You’ll also support with personal care (full support for one, gentle prompts for the other two), medication (liquid-based), mobility (wheelchair guidance and transfers into vehicles), and meal planning and cooking. Communication is absolutely vital, not just with the people you support, but with their families. This home does require someone with patience and emotional intelligence.
