Job description
Join Dimensions – Make a Real Difference Every Day

Location: East Finchley, London
Role: Female Support Worker (Full-time 37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £12.31 per hour

At Dimensions, we’re proud to be an award-winning, not-for-profit organisation that supports people with learning disabilities and autism to live fulfilling, independent lives. We’re values-led, people-focused, and passionate about making a difference.

The Role

We’re currently looking for a Support Worker to join our team in East Finchley. You’ll be supporting four adults, two women and two gentlemen, aged between mid-40s to 60s. They love music, dancing, and karaoke, and their smiles light up the room when they’re enjoying themselves.

This is a female support worker position where you’ll be working as part of a larger team. During the day, three staff are on shift, and two staff cover waking nights. The people we support have learning disabilities, epilepsy, and dysphagia (which means there’s a risk of choking), and some may display self-injurious behaviours. One person receives 1:1 support, and the people we support may not use words to communicate, so being observant, intuitive, and responsive is essential.

We’re looking for someone who is caring and full of energy, someone who enjoys being out and about, whether that’s visiting day centres, going to the park or visiting the local pub. You’ll need to be comfortable providing full personal care and preparing meals, and you’ll be supported to learn about Positive Behaviour Support through coaching and input from behavioural consultants.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include helping with shopping, cooking, cleaning, and medication, as well as supporting emotional wellbeing. You’ll also use digital tools to log daily notes and complete training.

Shifts are typically 7:00am–2:30pm or 2:30pm–10:00pm, with long days (7:00am–10:00pm). Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Why Work with Dimensions UK?

At Dimensions, we’re proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work for seven years running. Whether you’re experienced or new to care, we’ll support you every step of the way.

You’ll receive full training, help to complete your Care Certificate, and opportunities to gain further qualifications. We also offer a wide range of benefits, including flexible shifts, 30 days paid annual leave (pro rata), a salary advance scheme, and discounts at major retailers and entertainment venues. We’ll even support you to learn to drive, covering up to 30 lessons and your test fees.
