Job summary

ILS Case Management in Attleborough, Norfolk, seeks a compassionate support worker for a 13-hour per week role. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends, with sleeping nights at national Living Wage.

You will assist a client with acquired brain injury at home, promoting independence, mobility, and daily activities, including medication support. Join a small team under a Team Leader, with DBS checks and a driving licence.

About The Role

Location

Attleborough, Norfolk

Hours

13 hours per week with flexibility to cover overnight and staff annual leave. Shifts and availability will be discussed at interview. Typical shifts are 8am-9pm, 8am-4.30 pm and 4.30pm-9pm and overnights are 9pm-12 noon the following day.

Pay
  • Weekdays: £15.17 per hour
  • Weekends: £17.23 per hour
  • Sleeping Nights 9pm-7am: National Living Wage

Job Summary

Our client is a 30-year-old lady who is happy, sociable with a great sense of humour. She enjoys basketball and football in the garden, puzzles, games, preparing her meals, dancing to music, swimming, and going on adventures in the community or on holiday. She also loves spending time with her family and friends. She lives at home in an annexe attached to the main house with her parents and two small dogs.

She has an acquired brain injury and is a wheelchair user and also uses a walking frame to get around and has a therapeutic support plan in place. She requires a rest in the afternoon to recharge. We are looking for a confident, compassionate, caring, and positive person with good communication skills and able to make decisions and use your initiative as you will be working on your own.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supporting the development of independence with all activities
  • Daily exercises to support her activity programme including rehabilitation and hydrotherapy
  • Deliver personal care tailored to her individual needs
  • This is a physically demanding role which involves supporting our client with her mobility, using moving and handling techniques and equipment safely (eg wheelchair, standing frame, bike etc)
  • Transporting our client in her own adapted Motability vehicle
  • Promoting purposeful, structured time both at home and out in the community
  • Assisting/supporting with medication administration
  • Maintain accurate digital/paper records

You’ll be working as part of a small friendly team guided by Team Leader, and parents daily and supported by a Case Manager.

About You

  • *Female due to providing personal care
  • Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you will be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
  • Experience with working with Acquired Brain Injury
  • Confident and comfortable working in the client's own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of her and her family
  • Can demonstrate commitment and passion for meeting the client's needs
  • Can demonstrate empathy and understanding in an appropriate and professional manner
