About the service

Our Blantyre Housing Support Service offers a vibrant and supportive environment for both our team members and the individuals we support. The service is dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centred care for individuals with complex needs, including physical disabilities and communication support requirements.

Currently, we support one individual living independently in their own home and are preparing to welcome another individual who will share a tenancy. A key aspect of this role will involve guiding both individuals and the team through this period of change, ensuring a smooth and positive transition.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to empowering the people we support to lead independent, fulfilling lives. Through tailored support and engaging activities, we aim to help them achieve their goals and thrive. Central to our approach is value-based communication, ensuring that every aspect of care is personalised to meet each individual’s unique needs.

As a key team member, you will provide 1:1 support to individuals, assisting them in their daily lives and encouraging them to achieve personal goals both at home and in the community. Building trusting relationships is essential for success in this role. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting personal care, household tasks, medication administration, meal preparation, and financial management.
• Providing companionship and fostering meaningful interactions.
• Promoting independence and individuality, aligned with each person’s Support Plan.
• Accurately recording daily activities and maintaining detailed records.
• Collaborating with team members, families, and individuals to ensure clear communication and consistent care.

Shift Patterns

Our Blantyre Service provides 24/7 support, 365 days a year. This is a lone-working role with a rota-based system including early shifts (7:30 AM 3:00 PM), late shifts (2:30 PM 10:00 PM), and wakened night shifts (9:45 PM 7:45 AM).
