Job summary

Innovate Care Group in Rickmansworth is seeking a dedicated care assistant to provide high-quality, person-centred support in clients' homes. You will work across day and night shifts, developing non-verbal communication skills, supporting activities, and helping with daily living tasks.

This role offers full-time hours with guaranteed shifts, training, and a supportive team including a Care-Coordinator and Clinical Lead. You will need a valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop non-verbal communication skills using Intensive Interaction and Makaton Signing (training provided).
  • Support participation in community activities including farming, swimming, dining out, and walks.
  • Facilitate involvement in music projects and collaborations with local groups.
  • Assist with meals and receive training in diet and nutrition to support needs.
  • Provide dignified personal care and maintain safe environments at home and outings.
  • Work with a team to implement the support plan and communicate with family and carers.

Job description

Job Overview

Type: Guaranteed 30 full‑time hours on an ongoing basis. Additional shifts may be required during the initial training period.

Working pattern: Variable shifts – Days, Nights, or Days & Nights.

Location: Rickmansworth. Must live within commutable distance and have full right to work in the UK. Sponsorship not offered.

Salary: £14.85 − £16.85 per hour.

What You Will Do
  • Help develop non‑verbal communication skills, particularly using Intensive Interaction and Makaton Signing (full training provided).
  • Support participation in community activities, such as farming projects, swimming, dining out, and walks.
  • Facilitate involvement in music projects, including collaborations with the London Symphony Orchestra and local music groups.
  • Encourage and enable her to overcome challenges, build confidence, and celebrate her achievements.
  • Assist with meal preparation and receive training in diet and nutrition to support her needs.
  • Provide dignified and respectful personal care as required.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment both at home and during outings.
  • Work closely with a team to implement her support plan effectively.
  • Communicate openly with her family and other significant people in her life, providing reassurance and maintaining trust.
  • Be adaptable to her changing needs and undertake any other reasonable tasks as required.
The Ideal Candidate Must Meet The Following Criteria
  • Female (due to the personal care aspect of the role).
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • If day shifts – a swimmer, as swimming is a key activity in the support plan.
