Irem is a lovely 9-year-old girl living at home with her parents and sisters. The family are Kurdish and follow the Kurdish Alevi religion. Knowledge of the Turkish language would be advantageous.
Irem has difficulties in social communication, social interaction, and flexible imaginative play associated with autism. Her receptive and expressive language skills are limited, and she sometimes becomes frustrated when adults do not understand her needs. At school, she uses PECs and individual words, and recently her verbal skills have improved, allowing her to communicate with single words. She has limited safety awareness and requires high supervision to ensure her safety. She experiences challenges with personal care and using the toilet.
Irem enjoys outdoor activities, visiting parks, trampolining, painting, music, and swimming. She loves chocolate and painting, which are her happy activities. She would like to visit the Tim Lamb Centre or Alan Shearer Centre with her PA.
