Job summary
A caring organization seeks a dedicated support worker in Normanby by Spital to assist a 59-year-old lady with mental health needs. Your responsibilities will include supporting personal care, meal preparation, and encouraging social activities. A genuine interest in supporting those with disabilities is essential. Reliable transport and business insurance are required for this role.
Qualifications
- Previous caring experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities/illnesses.
- Must be a car driver with business insurance.
Responsibilities
- Support with personal care tasks such as toileting and dressing.
- Assist with meal preparation and eating.
- Encourage socialisation and participation in activities.
- Report any accidents or hazards immediately.

- Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
- Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
- Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
- Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
- Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
- Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times. Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered). Transport Requirement: Car driver and car owner - must have business insurance., Hours per week: leave cover for any day of the week and some hours available soon for weekends as PA will be off following an operation.

I am a 59 year old lady with Mental health needs that needs support with meals (cooking a lunch and preparing a salad for my tea), taking medication, some personal care and social outings.
