About the Employer

Lady with a physical disability requires support for all daily activities and personal care. Lady uses a wheelchair and will need to be hoisted. All training provided by the employer.

Ideally to recruit 4 PAs with 3 doing 10 hours and 1 PA doing 7 hours per week, on a rota, always working as a double with a 2nd PA.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
  • Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.

The individual’s needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and/or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

  • Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
  • Be able to work flexibly, adapting to the employer’s needs on a daily basis.
  • Flexibility would be an advantage as the hours may be variable.
  • Ideally NVQ2 trained for this role or proven experience with someone with similar needs.
Required Training

Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role.

  • Moving and Handling. Training will be provided by the employer.
  • Catheter Care. Training will be provided by the employer.
Hours per Week

  • Monday: 7.30am to 8.30am, 11am to 12pm, 9pm to 10pm
  • Tuesday: 7.30am to 8.30am, 11am to 12pm, 9pm to 10pm
  • Wednesday: 7.30am to 8.30am, 11am to 12pm, 9pm to 10pm
  • Thursday: 7.30am to 8.30am, 11am to 12pm, 9pm to 10pm
  • Friday: 7.30am to 8.30am, 11am to 12pm, 9pm to 10pm
  • Saturday: 7.30am to 8.30am, 11am to 12pm, 9pm to 10pm
  • Sunday: 7.30am to 8.30am, 11am to 12pm, 9pm to 10pm

Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
