Person specification
I am looking for someone reliable, energetic, outgoing with a good sense of humour to join my friendly team of PA’s supporting me in living independently. Some experience of providing care is preferred but not essential. If you have good work ethics and are committed to providing the best care possible with a genuine interest, I would love to hear from you.
The role involves assistance with all aspects of daily life, including personal care, domestic tasks, and activities such as keep fit, wheelchair rugby, cycling, swimming, art projects, gardening, woodwork, craft projects, socialising, occasional nights out, and trips.
Regardless of experience, you must be willing to learn and follow guidance from experienced PAs. As you progress, working with initiative is expected.
Full job description available upon request
I have a C5/6 spinal cord injury (broken neck): complete paralysis below the shoulders, partial paralysis of both arms, no hand or finger dexterity, and am wheelchair-bound. I need assistance with personal care and domestic chores. I am active, enjoy life, have a sense of humour, and strive for independence despite paralysis. I currently have three PAs and am looking to add someone to my team.
During induction/shadow shifts, you will be guided through the tasks listed in the job description.
Shifts typically start at 18:00 and finish at 11:00 the following day. Additional daytime hours are available. You will cover holiday leave and absences equally. Extra cover is needed between June and August for annual leave.
Initial start: 1 shift per week plus training. I look forward to hearing from you.
