Area: Fawdon, Newcastle upon Tyne

Hi, I am a woman with a high-level Spinal Cord Injury (Tetraplegia) looking for a Personal Assistant to join my existing team on a part-time basis. I live in Fawdon, Newcastle upon Tyne, with my husband, our teenage daughter, and a small, friendly dog. Some of my interests include growing vegetables, experimental cooking, and drinking tea, but you don’t need to share these interests to be suitable for this job.

You will be joining a team of PAs, who work various shifts during the week, and occasionally I might need you to work at the weekend. There will also be cover for PA holidays and sickness.

Brief details of the job

I need assistance with all aspects of daily living, including transfers to and from wheelchair using a hoist or transfer board, personal care, food preparation, walking my dog, gardening, driving my car, shopping, and accompanying me to appointments.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 paragraphs 1–4.

This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.
