Disability North in Whickham, Gateshead, is seeking a sociable personal assistant to support a 34-year-old female student in her final year at Newcastle University. The role is up to 25 hours per week with flexible days, and you must have your own vehicle.
You will help with day-to-day tasks, meals, home management, travelling to activities, and attending appointments, both in the community and at university, while fostering independence and a positive routine.

We are looking for a sociable, chatty female personal assistant to support a lovely 34-year-old female who is friendly, outgoing, and enjoys being active and out in the community. She is currently studying, and in her final year at Newcastle University.
As a personal assistant you will play an important role in supporting this lady to live confidently and independently at home and be supported in the community. If you’re reliable, respectful and enjoy making a positive difference to someone’s day, this post could suit you!
You will provide day-to-day support with things like preparing meals and keeping the home running smoothly. No two days will be the same, and you’ll be a valued part of helping her live the life she chooses.
This role would suit someone who is friendly, dependable, chatty and able to work independently while building a positive, professional working relationship. This role is person-centred, meaningful and truly rewarding- you’ll be supporting someone to stay independent and continue doing the things she enjoys.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
