Job description

Hours: 12 hours per week, divided into 2 hours daily, including 1.5 hours in the morning (8 AM to 9:30 AM) and 7 PM to 7:30 PM.

Hourly rate: Age-related NMW up to £12.15 per hour.

Holidays: 5.6 weeks per year (pro-rata).

Area: South Shields.

A personal assistant is needed to support a tetraplegic lady in her 60s with personal care. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, light household duties, meal preparation, and occasional shopping. Full training will be provided for all tasks. Personal care will be performed single-handedly.

The lady has a young outlook and enjoys activities such as outings, swimming, gym visits, cinema, theatre, and holidays.

Female PAs are preferred. Previous experience in social care is advantageous.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male or female, in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, paragraphs 1–4.
