Job summary

Job description

Our Dumfries Community Teamare currently recruiting for Part Time Support Practitioners!

You do not need previous experience in Care to apply as we recruit on values and transferrable skills.

We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care!

However, for these posts we are only able to consider female applicants who have a UK Driving Licence for manual vehicles and access to their own cars.

This is a parttime post consisting of 20hrs per week. Evening and weekend work is required.

Shifts are varied in this team as they work around providing with administering medication and providing personal care at certain times of the day. Shifts can be 07:30-12:00 and 16:00 to 21:30.

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland provides personalised and outcome-focused support to over 2800 individuals in their own homes across Scotland, making us the country's largest provider of social care. We support individuals with a variety of different needs such as physical and/or learning disabilities, ongoing mental health issues, alcohol or substance abuse and autism.

The Role

As a Support Practitioner, you will support individuals to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

This can include assistance with medication, general housework, meal preparation and personal care.

You would also provide social support within the service, accompanying individuals to any hobbies/events that they have on and participating in hobbies at home!

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer - this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.
