CJP Outreach Services is recruiting a support worker to assist an 18-year-old with complex care needs in his home. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare, particularly with cerebral palsy, and will support the individual in daily activities and community access.

We are currently recruiting to add to our existing team due to an increase in hours of care. The role is to support an 18-year-old young gentleman with complex care needs in his family home.
O lives at home with his parents and younger sibling. He uses eye gaze to communicate as he is nonverbal and communicates using facial expressions. O uses his eyes to direct people to what he wants and uses an eye gazer. He knows his own mind and is very set in his preferences.
O enjoys watching TV and DVDs, and the support worker works with him to plan and complete other activities during their shifts.
O accesses the community in his mobility vehicle, which his dad drives.
Role responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within complex care or a healthcare environment and be in good general health, as there is a requirement for moving and handling.
You will have experience with cerebral palsy, PEG feeding, tracheostomy, suctioning/cough assist, and nebulisers, and possess knowledge in pressure care, manual handling, and personal care. You will work closely with the individual and their support network to tailor care to their specific needs.
