Flexibility for weekdays and alternative weekends required.

We are currently recruiting to add to our existing team due to an increase in hours of care. The role is to support an 18-year-old young gentleman with complex care needs in his family home.

O lives at home with his parents and younger sibling. He uses eye gaze to communicate as he is nonverbal and communicates using facial expressions. O uses his eyes to direct people to what he wants and uses an eye gazer. He knows his own mind and is very set in his preferences.

O enjoys watching TV and DVDs, and the support worker works with him to plan and complete other activities during their shifts.

O accesses the community in his mobility vehicle, which his dad drives.

Role responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within complex care or a healthcare environment and be in good general health, as there is a requirement for moving and handling.

You will have experience with cerebral palsy, PEG feeding, tracheostomy, suctioning/cough assist, and nebulisers, and possess knowledge in pressure care, manual handling, and personal care. You will work closely with the individual and their support network to tailor care to their specific needs.

Benefits include:

  • Employee wellbeing scheme (including free face-to-face counselling, helplines, and online support)
  • Employee discount scheme – discounts on everyday items including shopping and fuel
  • L.O.V.E (Living our Values Everyday) – rewards and recognition scheme
  • Random surprise gifts of kindness throughout the year
  • In The Loop – our company community app linking our teams and sharing experiences
  • Company training programme and further career development opportunities
  • Fully paid DBS
  • Refer a friend scheme: worth £200 in total, split £100 after 100 hours worked and another £100 after passing probation (6 months)
