Job Description

Are you looking for a meaningful way to connect with your community? We have an exciting opportunity for a new care assistant to join our 'Outstanding' island team. No two visits are the same, and daily tasks can include:

Home help:
  • Run errands / collect prescriptions etc.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, washing and ironing, taking out rubbish, caring for houseplants etc.).
  • Organise and tidy cupboards and check food expiry dates.
  • Plan, prepare, and tidy away meals.
  • Answer the door.
  • Assist with pet care.
  • Provide dementia / Alzheimer’s care.
  • Provide respite / convalescence care.
  • Assist with morning/wake-up and evening/tuck-in routines.
Companionship:
  • Offer companionship and conversation.
  • Monitor diet and eating habits.
  • Stimulate and encourage through activities (e.g., clothing selection, hobbies, crafts).
  • Arrange and provide reminders for appointments, activities, and outings.
  • Help with travel arrangements.
  • Organise mail and assist with writing letters.
  • Assist with walking (lending an arm to steady).
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social events.
Assisting with personal care:
  • Provide medication reminders.
  • Help with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with continence care.
  • Help with eating and drinking.
