Extra Care units offer residents their own self-contained living space within a larger building, with access to care staff based within the unit who provide care to each resident. As a care assistant at our Extra Care Unit, you will support residents with varying needs to live as independently as possible, with personalized care and support plans in place.
Every client's needs are different. You may assist with housework, help with getting up in the morning, prepare a hot meal, provide companionship, assist with medication, or help with washing and dressing. More than tasks, our carers become friends, offering human company, encouragement, and maybe a laugh or two, especially when life is tough. Caring can be challenging, but many families are grateful for your support.

In Scotland, all care staff must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and maintain their registration, including annual renewal. Cera will fund your SVQ2 training, but there is a registration fee payable by the employee. Due to the provision of intimate care, this vacancy is restricted to women only, as clients may request a carer of a specific sex.
