Job summary

A local care home is looking for a compassionate Female Care Assistant to provide personal care and support to residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in a care setting, be skilled in medication administration, and hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care. A driving licence and vehicle are preferred. You'll assist with daily living tasks and promote residents' dignity and independence.

Reports To: Senior Care Assistant / Nurse / Care Home Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering personal care, administering medication, and supporting adults with various care needs. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is preferred, especially for supporting residents with external appointments or community activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
  • Assist with medication administration in line with care plans and policies (including use of MAR/EMAR systems if trained)
  • Support residents with mobility and help maintain independence
  • Take residents to appointments or outings where necessary (drivers only)
  • Assist with meals including feeding and hydration
  • Monitor and document changes in residents health and wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate records and report to senior staff or nursing team
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment
  • Promote dignity, choice, and respect at all times
  • Follow all safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety policies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Care Assistant (preferably in a care home setting)
  • Experience in administering or assisting with medication is essential
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards it
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and flexible with working hours (including weekends and bank holidays)
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle preferred
  • MAPA or PMVA Trained
