PBS4 is seeking a Female Support Worker (Enablement Assistant) in Bournemouth to support a 27-year-old woman with autism and learning disabilities. The role involves personal care, facilitating outdoor activities, and ensuring her well-being. Ideal candidates are calm, fun, and good swimmers with driving licenses. Training provided.
Female Support Worker (Internally known as an Enablement Assistant)
Location: Bournemouth
Hours Per Week: Part-time hours
Hourly Rate: £13.00
Driver required with full UK Drivers Licence (Client has her own car that you will use)
About You
You should be a calm, fun individual who can swim and enjoys the outdoors. The person you will support is very outdoorsy, working on a farm three days a week and enjoys long walks on weekends. She also loves swimming, so being a good swimmer is essential.
You need to be a competent driver with a full UK driving licence, as she has her own car for outings and farm visits.
Clear communication skills are necessary because she has a communication disorder.
Experience with autism, learning disabilities, or sensory processing difficulties is advantageous but training will be provided.
About the role
Jane, a 27-year-old woman with autism, learning disability, and sensory processing disorder, currently lives at home in Bournemouth and will soon move into her own home in the BH postcode area. She is active, fun, and has a great sense of humor!
She enjoys visiting local areas like the New Forest and the beach and participates in leisure activities such as swimming, bowling, and golf during weekends.
Her interests include listening to music, watching Disney, and enjoying food.
Personal care duties include assistance with bathing, hair washing, and applying creams.
A structured routine and support with activities are essential for her well-being.
Her communication involves objects of reference, key words, sign language, and her iPad.
The support ratio is 1:1, including helping her use public transport with her bus pass.
She enjoys weekly swimming, walking, trampolining, and outdoor activities, and shares these interests with team members.
Her favorite outings include coffee shops and lunch at places like KFC or McDonald's.
Her weekly schedule involves attending a day service two days and working on a farm three days, plus supporting her small magazine delivery job monthly, which she does with her parents.

Support Workers are called Enablement Assistants and receive support from a dedicated team, including managers and clinicians. Shifts may include day, night, or sleep shifts.
