About your team:

At British Gas, our mission is to sell and mend energy solutions.

We’ve powered the UK’s homes and businesses for over 200 years. We’re also making the UK greener and more energy efficient by using tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers to help customers reduce their carbon footprint.

About your role:

This advert aims to inspire more females to pursue engineering apprenticeships. We aim to reach all our customers’ net zero goals by 2050, understanding that some might feel more comfortable with female engineers in their homes. This is not your typical engineer role; it’s a unique opportunity with an innovative energy company.

As an apprentice, you’ll develop skills by joining one of our engineering teams, such as Gas Service & Repair, Heating Installation, or Smart Metering. We have various entry routes available in 2025 and look forward to welcoming new colleagues.

What we’re looking for:

• 4 GCSEs, including Maths & English, at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent
• A passion for learning a trade, a desire for a successful career, and providing excellent customer service
• A full UK driving license with 6 points or less
• Availability to attend training at our UK-wide academies, with accommodation and travel provided if needed

What’s in it for you:

• Starting salaries from £15,435 to £17,850, increasing as you reach milestones
• After completing the apprenticeship, your salary aligns with that of a fully skilled engineer or electrician
• London Weighting Allowance from £4,000 to £6,000 depending on location
