Sterling Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our client’s Felixstowe operation. The role focuses on planning container movements, coordinating drivers and hauliers, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on cost efficiency, route optimization and real-time data accuracy within the TMS. A competitive salary and annual bonus are included.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in transport planning, specifically within Felixstowe port or container logistics.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK and major arterial routes.
• A thorough understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Plan and route vehicle movements for maximum fleet utilization and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate timely collection and delivery of goods, focusing on container logistics.
• Develop and manage relationships with third-party hauliers and subcontractors, including rate negotiation.
• Act as central point of contact for drivers, providing clear instructions and resolving on-road issues.
