Job description

Our client is a leading set of Barristers’ Chambers, widely respected for its formidable reputation across a broad range of practice areas. Chambers is also known for its exceptional client service, delivered by both Members and its outstanding staff team.

Chambers is now seeking a capable and experienced Fees Clerk to join its dedicated administration team. This is a vital position, working closely with Practice Directors, Members of Chambers, and external providers to ensure the smooth operation of Chambers’ billing and collection processes.

The Role:
  1. Monitor and chase outstanding fees.
  2. Work closely with practice directors on aged debt recovery.
  3. Act as the main contact for external recovery partners.
  4. Handle general queries related to billing and collections.
  5. Support costs budgeting requirements.
  6. Prepare data, reports, and information for internal meetings.
  7. Produce ‘unbilled fees’ and other reports.
  8. Play an active role in key elements of Chambers’ billing requirements.
The Person:
  • Experience in collection gained within a barristers’ chambers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external providers.
  • Knowledge of LAA and CFA funding.
