Job summary

Ardagh Group in Irvine is seeking a Feeder Forehearth Specialist (Engineer) to operate feeder and forehearth equipment to ensure efficient container production. The role involves maintaining equipment, addressing defects, and implementing improvements to minimise downtime.

You will work with cross-functional teams to keep processes safe and compliant, supporting Lean Six Sigma initiatives and continuous improvement. This site offers competitive pay and benefits in a manufacturing environment.

Feeder Forehearth Specialist (Engineer)

Irvine Plant

Role description

Operate feeder and forehearth equipment to ensure that glass containers can be produced as effectively as possible.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and maintaining efficient operation of the feeder and forehearth equipment during the job change process.
• Carry out maintenance work on feeders and forehearths to maintain efficient operation.
• Respond to any container defects detected in hot and cold end and make necessary changes to feeder and forehearth equipment to minimise the occurrence of container defects.
• Identify any malfunctions with the feeder and forehearth, repair if possible or refer to necessary personnel to minimise downtime.

Required Skills / Qualifications

• Ability to work with feeder and forehearth equipment.
• Understanding of forehearth operation, maintenance, and equipment.
• Excellent engineering skills and initiative.
• Computer literate with good oral and written communication skills.
• Have a good understanding of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Tools and continuous improvement.
• Have an awareness of relevant Health & Safety and Hygiene Regulations.
