This is an exciting opportunity for a new journalist to join a multi-award-winning magazine, and market leader in the health sector. With a successful history dating back to 1960, we’ve been at the forefront of providing essential information and support to our audience of over 43,000 GPs. Our content spans a wide range of topics, including political and financial news, formal CPD, cutting-edge investigations, clinical updates, thought-provoking debate and practice business advice. Our award-winning editorial team is renowned for setting the agenda, with our exclusives seeing us name-checked in the national media more than 100 times in the past year alone.
As the Features Assistant at Pulse, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects. You’ll be responsible for writing features, commissioning opinion pieces and debates, managing our bloggers, and finding GPs who are making a difference in their field. You’ll also have the chance to contribute to news and investigations, and be the voice of Pulse on social media.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, able to plan and produce at least one piece of content every day for our newsletters, and have excellent proofreading skills. You will need to be confident enough to publish articles with minimal input from the editor and have the ability to build a network of contacts within the sector. The successful candidate will also be happy to use social media, getting the tone right for the publication with support from the editor.
There will be plenty of opportunity for the successful candidate to take on other responsibilities within the team as they wish, whether that be finding exclusives for our award-winning news team, or even writing investigations for online and print.
They will work within a team of talented journalists and editors and be part of a growing and innovative publishing company which offers flexible working, whether in our central London office, remotely, or hybrid.
This would suit someone who is looking for a first or second role in journalism.
