Post Title: Section Manager for Business – HE and AAT

Contract Schedule: Full-time - during term time

Contract type: Permanent

Start Date: TBC

Location: Uxbridge

We are working with an FE College with a successful Business School which offers a range of programmes including vocational BTEC programmes in Business, primarily Level 1 – 3, and also a portfolio of Finance, Commercial and Professional Management qualifications.

As a Section Manager, you would be required to report to the Head of School for Business. You would provide leadership for a team of Lecturers, manage study programmes, and develop provision across the Section, with a particular focus on HE and AAT programmes.

You would teach across a range of programmes according to your specialism, which may include AAT and HE programmes. You would also continue to increase and develop our links with employers, which are integral to successful student work placements and course enrichment.

You will need to possess a relevant degree or equivalent level professional qualification and a minimum Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (PGCE/DET or equivalent), and have at least three years’ successful teaching experience, preferably in Further Education, including leading/supervising others.

You will also have some curriculum co-ordination and development experience, a good understanding of quality assurance and experience of improving teaching, learning and assessment.

To be successfully shortlisted for this role you must:

• Level 5 or above teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, PGCE or equivalent) **
• Assessor/verifier qualifications or willingness to obtain
• Professional Qualifications such as AAT, CIPD or ILM is desirable for this role
• At least 3 years’ recent successful teaching experience in the subject area to learners aged 16+ years
• Industry experience or experience as practitioner in field of Business/Finance/Accounting
• Understanding of quality assurance, curriculum, and funding issues
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with local employers
• Up-to-date knowledge of the relevant subject area
• Experience of leading/supervising a team
