Job summary

enable recruitment | B Corp is launching a brand-new FDM production capability in North East London and seeks a seasoned FDM Production Manager to own the department, lead technicians and establish procedures, standards and workflows to scale the operation.

You will oversee printing, post-processing, inspection, packing and dispatch while driving capacity, efficiency and on-time delivery across multiple printers and materials.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating multiple FDM printers in production.
• Experience leading technicians or a small production team.
• Strong knowledge of slicing, build orientation and materials.
• Ability to troubleshoot printers and resolve production problems.
• Understanding of production planning, capacity, utilisation and on-time delivery.
• Awareness of how labour, materials and waste affect cost and margin.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day FDM operation and manage production technicians.
• Establish structure, standards and ways of working for the new department.
• Support installation and commissioning of additional printers as the farm grows.
• Plan production across machines to maximise capacity and meet deadlines.
• Manage full production process: printing, post-processing, inspection, packing and dispatch.
• Review files, slice models, select materials and prepare printer profiles.
• Qualify new materials and production processes before release.
• Monitor print performance and resolve machine/material/quality issues.
• Own machine uptime, calibration, servicing and maintenance.
• Manage material stock, traceability, storage and reordering.
• Create SOPs, quality docs and training materials.
• Track utilisation, throughput, delivery and productivity.
• Improve throughput, labour efficiency and cost per part.
• Collaborate with Sales/Engineering on quoting and manufacturability.
