Job description

Job title: FCAS - Legal Counsel

Location: Warton - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £70,000+

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting campaigns, bids and programme delivery in key territories
  • Advising on a wide range of contractual matters
  • Leading on legal-focussed matters including data protection, litigation, disputes, the management of legal entities and investigations
  • Maintaining our "licence to trade" through good governance and compliance
  • Managing your portfolio of matters through appropriate prioritisation
  • Working closely with other members of the Legal and Export Control Function and embedding within business teams as a full team member
  • Proactively suggesting ways to improve how the Legal Function and wider business works and what it delivers

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • UK qualified solicitor or barrister, you will also have appropriate experience in relevant legal disciplines from a leading law firm and/or in-house experience
  • Experience of drafting and negotiating contracts required by the business across a range of issues and in a changing business environment
  • Experience of delivering legal advice across a portfolio of matters and are prepared to travel as required

Desirable:

  • Have an interest in the defence industry, the Company and its products
