Job description

Job Title: Financial Controller

Salary: £97,000 - £100,000 per annum

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide experienced accounting & coordination on key finance operations for UK businesses and overseas legal entities.
  2. Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of all day-to-day finance operations, including management reporting and statutory accounting.
  3. Assist the CFO in leading the UK finance function, identifying ways to increase efficiency and growth opportunities.
  4. Lead and develop a team of assistant accountants to meet all reporting requirements.
  5. Oversee end-to-end finance operations for in-scope entities.
  6. Refine and develop an internal capital and risk assessment (ICARA) process for non-interconnected investment firms and non-SNI firms.
  7. Ensure timely production of monthly management accounts and related management information, including P&L, balance sheet & cash flows.
  8. Review and challenge monthly management accounts, supporting schedules & reports.
  9. Conduct thorough reviews of the balance sheet and reconciliations, providing commentary and analysis.
  10. Drive continuous improvements to financial processes, automation reporting, and controls.
  11. Assist in ensuring all statutory reporting deadlines are met, including annual accounts and tax filings.
  12. Manage the audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing necessary schedules.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Professional finance qualification in either ACA / CIMA / ACCA.
  2. Strong technical financial experience, preferably within a complex global company.
  3. Proficient in producing, understanding, and interpreting complex/technical information clearly for finance and non-finance audiences.
  4. Demonstrable experience of developing a deep understanding of financial results, including P&L drivers, balance sheet results, business metrics, and key trends.
