Job summary

James George Recruitment is recruiting for a Compliance Officer on behalf of a FCA-authorised commercial finance broker. You will own the compliance framework end-to-end, act as the main contact for regulators, and drive a strong compliance culture as the business grows.

You’ll manage regulatory submissions, audits and training, with a focus on Consumer Duty, NACFB and SAF accreditation, while reporting to the Operations Manager. Hybrid work in the UK is available.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of FCA regulation in financial services.
• Experience with regulatory reporting, audits and industry accreditations.
• Practical understanding of GDPR and data protection.
• Able to translate regulatory guidance into practical processes.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with regulators and colleagues at every level.
• Experience with NACFB, SAF or Consumer Duty, or delivering compliance training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as main contact for the FCA and other bodies.
• Manage FCA regulatory data submissions (monthly, quarterly and annual) and quarterly ONS returns.
• Carry out and document the annual Consumer Duty review.
• Implement regulatory updates and handbook changes into practice.
• Maintain NACFB and SAF accreditation, including staff learning and renewal testing.
• Design and deliver compliance and fraud training, keeping training records up to date.
• Own the firm’s policies, with annual Board sign-off.
• Oversee GDPR, including SARs, consent, privacy notices and Data Retention Policy.
• Support audits, onboarding of new staff and compliance setup for introducers and Appointed Representatives.
• Manage relationships with third-party credit agencies.
