Are you looking to grow into a budding Chef? Seeking training to take yourself to the next culinary step?

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our vibrant catering team at our Children’s Activity Centre, Condover Hall, located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Condover Hall is an elegant Grade I listed Elizabethan sandstone building, known as the grandest manor house in Shropshire, situated in a conservation area on the outskirts of Condover village. The restaurant offers buffet-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner for guests and staff. During peak times, Condover Hall can host up to 600 guests, creating a fast-paced environment with crowd-pleasing menus.

This role provides training through our partners, enabling you to progress from a Trainee to a fully qualified Chef, including roles such as Commis Chef, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Head Chef.

What are we looking for?
  • Catering experience with a desire to become a Chef
  • Experience in larger catering environments (e.g., schools, events) is a bonus but not essential
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • A passion for innovation and high-quality food
  • A customer-focused team member comfortable working with children and young people
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring high standards and adherence to company guidelines
  • Catering to various dietary requirements
  • Working collaboratively in a fast-moving environment
  • Following due diligence procedures such as HACCP
  • Maintaining high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas
