Job Role: Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to assist the team with daily routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of experience in care and demonstrate compassion.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers help with the day-to-day care of patients in homes, hospitals, or patients' own homes. They are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker, you would work under the supervision of nursing staff and alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Assisting with feeding
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around
• Assisting with toileting and collecting bedpans
• Maintaining cleanliness and order in patient areas
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients within hospitals. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
