Job Role: Support worker / Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant is expected to assist the team with daily routines, including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of care experience and demonstrate compassion.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers assist with the daily care of patients in homes, hospitals, or private residences and are vital members of healthcare teams.

Previous care experience and/or qualifications are essential.

As a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker, you will work under nursing staff supervision alongside other healthcare assistants.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Assisting with feeding
• Making and changing beds
• Turning bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Assisting with mobility
• Managing bedpans and assisting with toileting
• Maintaining cleanliness of wards or homes
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids, escorting patients, and participating in induction training as you gain experience.
