Job description

We are looking for a Farm Trader to join the Frontier commercial team, based in Newmachar, on a permanent full-time basis. A background in sales is not essential, as we are seeking individuals with a strong interest in agriculture who will become key members of the Scottish Commercial team. Full training will be provided.

  • FACTS qualification (advantageous but not essential)
Your Role

As a Farm Trader, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Gaining comprehensive knowledge of Frontier’s products and services
  2. Promoting and developing Frontier’s business offerings
  3. Understanding grain markets and advising on management strategies
  4. Purchasing grain, oilseeds, and pulses from farmers, negotiating storage and handling terms
  5. Selling seed, fertilisers, and inputs, and exploring new sales opportunities
  6. Building relationships with experienced commercial managers and enhancing technical knowledge
  7. Collaborating with colleagues to identify new customer opportunities and nurture existing relationships
  8. Engaging in prospecting activities for Frontier
