Job summary

The Butchers Recruiter is seeking a Farm Shop Butcher for a growing farm shop in Coventry. The role centers on skilled meat preparation, customer service and maintaining high hygiene standards in a busy retail setting.

You will produce beef, pork, lamb and poultry products and create value-added items like sausages and burgers, while providing guidance to customers and helping with stock control. Weekend rotas are required.

Qualifications

• Strong knife skills across a variety of meat products.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and stock control procedures.
• Experience working in a customer-facing environment.
• Experience producing value-added products such as sausages and burgers.
• Previous retail or commercial butchery experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present a range of meat products including beef, pork, lamb and poultry.
• Produce value-added products including sausages, burgers and kebabs.
• Serve customers and provide knowledgeable product guidance.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and compliance.
• Complete packaging, labelling and stock rotation activities.
• Support daily production requirements and attractive counter displays.

Your responsibilities as Farm Shop Butcher

• Prepare and present a range of meat products including beef, pork, lamb and poultry
• Produce value-added products including sausages, burgers and kebabs
• Serve customers and provide knowledgeable product guidance

What we're looking for in a Farm Shop Butcher

• Previous retail or commercial butchery experience

Working Hours

• 42 hours per week
• 5 days from 7 on a rota basis
• Typical shifts of 07:00 - 16:00 or 08:00 - 17:00
• Regular Saturday working required
• Sunday working on a rota basis (2 in 4)
• Additional paid hours available during seasonal peak periods
