Job summary

A leading agricultural staffing agency is seeking individuals for livestock management roles in Ollerton. The job involves feeding, caring for pigs, and ensuring animal welfare standards are met. Full training is provided, making it suitable for candidates with or without prior livestock experience. A valid UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with livestock or a background in agriculture is desirable but not essential.
  • UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Feed, move, serve, treat, vaccinate, and handle pigs.
  • Ensure animal welfare according to Company policies.
  • Participate in training as required.

Job description
Main Duties
  • Feeding, moving, serving, treating, vaccinating, and handling the pigs
  • Ensure that animal welfare is in accordance with Company policies (RSPCA Assured Standards and the five freedoms in respect of animal welfare, directed by your Line Manager)
  • Adhere to Company Policies (as noted in the above Job Purpose) at all times
  • Ensure that all equipment/farm machinery is used safely and for the purpose it is designed for (equipment must only be used when fully trained and qualified to do so)
  • Report all site damage immediately to your Line Manager
  • Understand the importance of biosecurity and security of the unit, checking all gates are locked at all times as directed by your Line Manager
  • Where applicable, ensure all buildings and compounds are secured out of working hours.
  • Ensure that all consumables - feed, medicines etc., are used in the correct manner for their intended purpose as directed by your Line Manager
  • Be willing to participate in training on the farm unit and in a classroom as required
  • Ensure that the unit is kept clean and tidy at all times and presentable to visitors
  • Work as part of a team to meet designated performance targets, co-operating with colleagues to create a supportive working environment
  • Help with additional holiday / weekend cover as and when required by your Line Manager
  • Carry out any other duties in line with your skills, as requested by management
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification
  • Experience with livestock or a background in agriculture is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
  • The ability to prioritise and complete tasks fully and timely
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Self-motivation with a strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills
  • UK driving licence
