Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Farm Manager to lead operations at an agricultural facility in Randburg, Gauteng. The role requires deep crop production knowledge, farm management expertise, and strong team leadership to drive safe, productive, and profitable farming.

You will oversee planting, irrigation, pest control, budgeting, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance, while promoting sustainable farming practices and high-quality yield.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations.
• Proven experience in crop management and understanding of local growing conditions in Gauteng.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and record-keeping.
• Ability to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of crop cultivation, including planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
• Manage farm labor, providing direction, training, and performance supervision.
• Develop and manage the farm budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource utilization.
• Maintain farm equipment and infrastructure, ensuring operational readiness and safety.
• Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure high-yield and premium produce.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations and environmental standards.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic farm development plans.
