Job description

Assist and support the Farm Manager with the day-to-day management of the farm, ensuring that the stock produced is of the highest standards and meets the required specifications in terms of welfare, weight, quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

In conjunction with FM, you will be required to:

  1. Communicate with the FM ensuring that information is provided promptly and accurately to avoid any issues arising.
  2. Provide holiday / sickness cover for FM as required.
  3. Ensure that bird welfare is never compromised.
  4. Manage and monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter, and lighting within the agreed standards, ensuring the highest quality conditions are provided for the birds.
  5. Direct and motivate the Employees to ensure that production targets are met.
  6. Manage and control Contractors on site ensuring that work is carried out to required specification and quality.
  7. Cover the alarm as required, ensuring it is operational and any faults are rectified immediately.
  8. Ensure that Site Security is maintained at all times, and report any issues.
  9. Ensure that the Site is maintained in a clean, tidy, and presentable manner.
  10. Ensure that the Company Health & Safety Policy is adhered to at all times.
  11. Undertake any other duties as required to fulfill the needs of the position.
  12. Attend training courses deemed appropriate by the Company and the Industry Standard Poultry Passport requirements.
