Farm Manager – Monmouthshire/Herefordshire Border

McConnel Farms is a fruit farming business specialising in producing Blackcurrants for Suntory, owners of Ribena, and Cider Apples for Bulmers.

Situated in the beautiful Wye Valley, yet within easy reach of key cities, the Welsh outdoors, and highly ranked schools.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the enterprise, which alongside managing a small team includes planning and coordinating crop growing and harvesting operations.

The Candidate

  1. Proven experience in commercial fruit growing, ideally blackcurrants and apples.
  2. Aptitude to work with Agronomists/Advisors and Commercial Manager.
  3. Strong understanding of agricultural practices, crop production, and soil management.
  4. Proficiency in operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
  5. Knowledge of operational Health and Safety protocols.
  6. Work with flexibility in peak seasons.
  7. Excellent record keeping – crop recording software training provided.
